Mcgregor vs Poirier 3
Well

One week to go
Can Conor drag it out of himself for one last fight. I really hope so. I like confidence meaning victories. Leave humble behind.

Re: Mcgregor vs Poirier 3
Macgregor was never gonna win that fight.

He was trying to convince the whole world he still has it but he didn’t even convince himself. I watched an interview with him, he was saying all the things you would expect but he didn’t truly believe it.

You can think you’re as motivated as you once were and you can train as hard and dedicate like you used to or even more but the raw desire that burns in the pit of your stomach is rarely there when you have success like Conor.

Still a great fighter been great for the sport but his race is run.

I broke my leg 2 years ago and had the IM nailing, it’s not the end of the world but most people like myself have knee issues. It don’t stop me, I still train 7 days a week but the recovery can be poor and as you age everything takes longer. Plus you still always know you’re leg is held together with screws and a medal rod. So gonna take some time before he wants to start heavy kicking.

The outburst is a frustrated man. He’s still a fighter and a competitor and always will be.

Agreed collyrob, he was pitching for another fight but cuntish behaviour by a beaten man.

Like Billy Jo Saunders, an absolute arsehole

Poirier would have absolutely rinsed him again

Re: Mcgregor vs Poirier 3
Nasty injury that.

He should just retire, he’s earned enough.

His comments after were a disgrace. He was bashed for the whole round. Then starts shouting about taking it outside, and DP’s wife. Classless

That just hurts. I'm in bits.
It was a well thought out and structured attack.
Ur a clever clever man and your husband must be proud of you.

For any UFC fans who will be watching this weekend or for those that don't know too much, try to catch this fight

Niko Price vs Michel Periera

Big fan of both. Michel pulls of some ridiculous moves most fights and Price is a viscious fighter. Will be a great fight.

Connor has lost his edge, as Micky said "the worst thing that could ever happen to a fighter you got civil!"

Re: Mcgregor vs Poirier 3
In which other individual sports does this happen?

Golf? TENNIS? Badminton? Snooker?

Or do they just get another opportunity to play the same people next week?

"Other sports if you lose you go to back of queue or get relegated !!"

You mean like DENMARK at the Euros?

Leroysboots Dillian Whyte has not had a shot at a world title. What are you talking about

We get 2 chances to beat every team in the Premier league every season. We get 38 games to win the league every season, we get a chance to win the Cup every season.
I think you have described every sport there

Nope, talking about how they continually get shots at the big fights despite losing

Other sports if you lose you go to back of queue or get relegated !!

Re: Mcgregor vs Poirier 3
On form, Poirier obviously wins. But UFC doesn't respect form.
Poirier was on the up before the second fight, Conor on the down, but that's not what won it for Poirier. He had a brilliant fight plan and Conor/ his team completely failed to adapt to it. Poirier went after the calf early, knowing if Conor shows a lot more weaknesses when he's not on the front foot (pun intended), and it worked brilliantly.
I'd like to see one last hurrah for Conor. He might not be the sport anymore but he made that business.

Re: Mcgregor vs Poirier 3
I think Poirier wins comfortably. I’d imagine it’s very difficult to improve at elite level being inactive although macgregor won’t have cut any corners. Thought the documentary on him was brilliant.

Re: Mcgregor vs Poirier 3
I've been watching the UFC since the days of Matt Hughes, Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell, and even know I know McGregor has been good for the sport in terms of brining in new fans, I can't stand the bloke and the only desire I've had in watching any of his fights was his fight against Khabib as I knew he'd get well and truly WALLOPED.
